Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 AFS Tambaram was established in the year 1964 in the barracks of the Indian Air Force, Tambaram. The school was initially started in a temporary building but later in 1979 shifted to the present site full of lush green in Air Force camp at Madambakkam situated in the out skirts of Tambaram, Chennai.
